Legal / Privacy

Your data. Straight talk.

This is a privacy policy written by an actual human, for actual humans. It says what data I collect, why I have it, and what you can do about it. No legalese wall. No dark patterns. No surveillance capitalism. Just the facts.

Who is responsible for your data

AASSCC is a trading name operated by Sam Caesar, based in Folkestone, Kent, UK. When this policy says "I", "me", or "AASSCC", that is who it means. One person. No department. No offshore data team.

If you want to get in touch about anything on this page: help@aasscc.how or +44 (0)7455 521 313.

What data I collect and why

Contact form submissions. When you fill in the form on this site, I receive your name, email address, and the message you wrote. If you ticked the urgent box, I get that too. I use this to reply to you. That is the only reason. The legal basis is legitimate interest: you contacted me, I am responding to you, nobody is surprised.

Email correspondence. If you email me directly, I receive that email. I keep emails for as long as they are relevant to a working relationship, and no longer. I do not mine them, profile them, or feed them into anything.

Client work. If we work together, I will handle whatever data is necessary to do the job. That is covered by a separate agreement between us, not this page.

What I do not collect: I do not run analytics. I do not use tracking pixels. I do not know how many people visit this site, which pages they read, or where they came from. I genuinely do not know, and I am fine with that.

How long I keep your data

Contact form enquiries: up to two years, in case the conversation picks up again. After that, gone.

Client correspondence: for the duration of the working relationship, plus a reasonable period for any follow-up. Not indefinitely.

If you ask me to delete something, I will delete it.

Who else sees your data

I use a small number of third-party services to run this site. They process data on my behalf under their own privacy terms. Here is who they are and what they do:

  • Formspree (formspree.io) — receives contact form submissions and forwards them to my inbox. US-based, Standard Contractual Clauses apply. Their privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare (cloudflare.com) — serves this site from the edge and handles security. They may log request metadata (IP addresses, timestamps) for abuse prevention. Their privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts (fonts.google.com) — serves the typefaces used on this site. A font request is made to Google’s servers when you visit. Google may log the request. Their privacy policy.

That is the complete list. I do not sell your data to anyone. I do not share it with advertisers. I do not have advertisers.

International transfers

Cloudflare and Formspree are US-based companies. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, it is done under Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the ICO. If you want the specifics, ask.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete data I no longer have a legitimate reason to hold
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Restrict processing in certain circumstances
  • Portability — receive your data in a usable format

To exercise any of these, email help@aasscc.how. I will respond within one month. There is no form to fill in, no portal to log into, no hoop to jump through. Just ask.

Complaints

If you think I have handled your data badly and we cannot sort it between us, you have the right to complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. I would rather you came to me first, but the option is there.

Changes to this policy

If something material changes, I will update this page and note the date below. I will not email everyone every time I fix a typo.
